5 Things to think about this coming new year !

I think that everyday people want to change, however the level of wanting to change maximizes as the holidays & New Year comes closer and closer. If there is one thing we can all agree on is that during that around this time a year, we all have those hopes of changing who we are. I believe that the key is not in changing who we are, we can't change that, but instead of finding new things/habits that will make us better people, not change us. Below are five ways that I think should be on everyones list this New Year !

 1. Be a little healthy

No, I'm not talking about a "diet" or "calories"! But about actually being healthy, think about it. Grab a water bottle instead of that soda or beer. See that yummy cinnamon bun? Get that some other time and go for that rich looking apple or cucumber (add some chili and lime for extra deliciousness ). These are the things that I am talking about, and don't worry about starting big, just small decisions and changes can make a change along the way!

2.Exercise a little each day

Again, I don't mean a full gold level gym membership or a full protein diet. Start small, park your car a little farther from work or the mall each day. Take the stairs instead of elevator, take your furry friend out for a run. Things like that, everyone should do small things like these each day , no matter how busy you are.

3. Nourish your body whenever possible

Being healthy/exercising and nourishing your body are similar, but NOT the same thing. Being healthy & fit are ways in which you can nourish your body, but there is more to it than just being healthy or running. Get a massage, drink some tea (Chamomile and honey are amazing!), take a day off and relax! Sleep early sometimes (Netflix will understand). Drink drink drink! water, your body will LOVE you for it. Have a local recreation center? Join yoga class, you'll love it !

4. Keep the stress down

I know how it feels, having to finish a paper, or doing important tasks and the kids are crying and screaming and there's mess to clean up. Stress is a  part of life, we need stress, but sometimes it can be too much. We can usually avoid it by being more organizational about our routines. Keep a planner, write down before going to bed the things that you have to do. Prioritize  do the most important things too and leave the easier things last. Everyday we can expect something completely unexpected, this way the less important things will be affected, instead of the most important things. Remember to TAKE A BREAK, sit down grab a book, bible, magazine and relax for a minute (or 10). Gain back some peace, we are far from being perfect!

5. Stop caring!

Sometimes, you just need to stop caring about that planner, that workout, that salad and enjoy life! I know this is  going against everything I listed, but hey everyone needs a break from time to time. Enjoy life! You are at a gather with friends & family? Enjoy the moment, you can clean later, a B on that essay is better than missing out on those funny childhood memories! Sometimes we are too concentrated in our futures and wanting to have everything perfect and clean that we forget about what really matters! When your looking at your last days alive, is it really going to matter if the bed is done? The DIY you pinned is done? If you passed that test you studied for all night ? No, what is really going to matter is remembering all those moments that are unexplainable and having the people you love next to you. Leave that blog post for tomorrow, and go out call a friend/family/lover and have fun!

And remember... Love Yourself !
